Norfolk is a very dog friendly county. Lots of open spaces, easy walking, very quiet sandy beaches with few restrictions. There are a couple of lovely walks from the door step too including the recently restored North Walsham & Dilham Canal which leads into Bacton Woods where there is miles more off-road walks to enjoy!
We have 2 dogs of our own of which we love (when we get a chance) to take on holiday with us in the UK as they are part of the family! One of the hardest parts of this is finding somewhere that is genuinely dog welcoming not just dog tolerant so we know what it’s like to make sure you find genuinely dog friendly, dog welcoming accommodation in this super dog friendly area
Doggy Day Care:
If your dog/doggies can be left in the property and you’re sure they will settle, won’t be stressed and are friendly, we are more than happy for you to arrange for someone to come in to let them out for their toilets during the day! You can then go out for the day and not have to stress about getting back for toilet breaks! Or if you would prefer them they could even be walked we would recomend Animarvelous Pet Care
Charges:
NO EXTRA CHARGES!!!
Dogs are completely free… They are part of the family so why would we charge more! Maximum of 4 dogs in the Old Stables and 3 in The Cart Shed unless otherwise notified and agreed.
Doggy Provisions:
- Outside warm doggy Shower (Old Stables only)
- Water Bowl
- Dog Towel
- Doggie Bed
- Freezer if your doggies are raw fed (Please keep stored in containers or bags)
- Welcome gift for the doggie (s)
- A couple of poo Bags to get you started
- Enclosed gardens – The Old stables has 5ft close board fence all around so is totally ‘doggie proof’, where as the Cart Shed has stock fencing on one side, so the views aren’t disturbed… you will need to bare this in mind if your doggie is very small and can fit through the small holes in the stock fencing or has a good jump on them! There is hedge that’s been planted front of the stock netting but will take a little while to establish -See pictures
Doggy Day Care:
If your dog/doggies can be left in the property and you’re sure they will settle, won’t be stressed and are friendly, we are more than happy to let them out for their toilets during the day FREE OF CHARGE (Booking required)! You can then go out for the day and not have to stress about getting back for toilet breaks!
Or if you would prefer them to be walked we can do this for you too but at a charge of £15 for around a 45 minute walk (Booking required). Fully insured and accredited Trusted Traders by the Norfolk County Council so you know you are leaving your pets in the best hands.
Doggy Rules
Please respect the let by clearing up after them and using the provided outside doggie shower after any dirty walks and towel off before entering the let. Any extensive cleaning must be paid for including dog urine!
Please only leave your dog (s) if you know that they will settle if left alone in a strange place or they are happy in crates. There is a crate in The Old Stables but we do not normally provide crates, although you’re welcome to bring them with you as most dogs like their own! IF they can be destructive or stressed when they are left alone, please do not leave them unsupervised for any period. It’s just not fair on your dog (or on us if they cause damage!) Any damage or extensive cleaning must be paid.
Doggies can roam free in the house and garden of course but must be kept on the lead whilst in the grounds.
No doggies allowed on the beds due to cleaning reasons…Unless you really do want your dogs to curl up with you on furniture/beds (ours do, so we know what it’s like!) then your more than welcome to bring some covers/sheets with you to lay over the top.

Dogs are allowed on most of the local beaches all year round (Inlcluding our local beach, Trimmingham) but there are restrictions on a few of them, 1 May – 1 October. This NNDC Dogs On Beaches leaflet explains which ones and how far the restricted area extends and this Explore Norfolk Website has a huge amount of useful information too.
